Car Club Run to the Robin Hood Inn
Situated in Drouin West (Gippsland Victoria) the Robin Hood Inn was one of the stopovers for the Cobb & Co Coach in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s.
Built by Henry Dickens in 1870 the Robin Hood remains much the same as it was then.
This was the perfect venue, and lunch stop, for the DVHCC http://www.dvhcc.com.au/
monthly run, which in the case of the Red Chev was a 101 mile round trip
The starting point for those who wanted to travel as a group was Bunnings in Narre Warren
We headed off for the mid morning stop at the Longwarry Market
This is where the writer gets to show his slight bias towards Chev 4's by asking the question
"How do you like your 28's, original or restored"
DVHCC members cover both preferences.
After an hour or so at the market we meet up for the short trip to the Robin Hood.
Now did a few of us get lost, or did we just want to drive around and view the beautiful scenery?
Don't ask me, I was just following the car in front, he was doing the same, and the car behind was following me.
Anyway we soon pulled up at the Robin Hood Inn for a great lunch and a good chat.
Thanks to all involved in organizing another great day out.
