The passing of my assistant (Jessie)

During the several years that I have spent typing this blog, and searching for photos, our dog Jessie has never been more than a few feet away, always keeping an eye on me and the proceedings.

Sadly we lost her yesterday, she passed away peacefully, enjoying the sun in the back yard.

RIP Jessie. You will be sadly missed, but always remembered.

Chevy Talk Removed from my list of Favorite Sites

It may go un-noticed by the majority of those who visit my blog that "Chevy Talk" has been removed from the top of my list of favorite sites, and deleted all together from the list.

The decision to do this came about very quickly and unexpectedly after I was informed by the management of Chevy Talk that the Forum titled "Vintage Chev Memories" that had a permanent listing for my blog was being relocated to the 1912-28 Chev forum, which unfortunately is a poorly patronized section of the Chevy Talk site.

When I was first approached to contribute to Chevy Talk, naturally I was delighted, and after some 155 postings and 3765 viewings thought it was ticking along nicely. Unfortunately I was not aware that the original location was regarded as being in the spotlight, and in management's eyes was not pulling the numbers to justify a position of such prominence. This area will now be taken by the hot topic of selling Chevy Talk merchandise, such as T- Shirts etc.

With the new location being so far in the dark, I made the decision to close the blog on Chevy Talk and will no longer maintain it with postings from this blog.

I fully respect the right of Chevy Talk management to run their site as they see fit, but I am disappointed. I was receiving a good cross section of interest way outside the normal 1912-28 Chev followers.

Why not keep it going some may ask. It requires a bit of work to maintain and update a blog, and more work to contribute posting on a second site. To do this for what will now be greatly reduced viewing, does not warrant the work involved.

So thanks to Chevy Talk for inviting me on board in the beginning, and for the experience along the way.

Regards

Ray Dean
